Aim of the course

This short seminar aims to provide delegates with a brief introduction to the benefits of working with perpetrators and consequences of not doing so.


By the end of the seminar participants will have a better understanding of:

  • why people perpetrate domestic abuse.
  • the anxieties and hopes regarding involving perpetrators in managing domestic abuse risk.
  • what constitutes safe/unsafe engagement with perpetrators – including signposting to appropriate support.

Before applying for CHSCB multi-agency training courses, you must have attended induction training within your own organisation, which includes familiarisation with its child protection responsibilities and the policies and procedures to be followed if you have concerns about a child's safety or welfare.

If you are applying for a Group B or C course, you must have completed introductory safeguarding children training with the CHSCB or an equivalent training course within another borough/organisation.
