Community Partnership Advisor

Hackney is a diverse borough with a wide range of communities and groups making it a unique and vibrant place to live. The CHSCB is committed to working effectively with the community to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to building partnerships based on mutual respect and trust.

The CHSCB has a Community Partnership Advisor (CPA) within its team to provide support to community and voluntary organisations and places of worship. Our focus is on helping organisations – such as schools, churches, voluntary and community organisations of all sizes – to understand the importance of keeping children and young people safe, so that they can work in compliance with the law and be effective members of the local safeguarding partnership.

Examples of the CPA’s services are:
  • delivery of child protection training to the voluntary sector, faith groups , schools and to parents within the community
  • case consultancy to professionals on issues related to faith and culture such as child trafficking ; honour based violence ; forced marriage ; female genital mutilation
  • provision of support or advice around developing a child protection policy.

If you would like to know more or would like to receive training, please contact the Community Partnership Advisor.
