City and Hackney Safeguarding Children Board undertakes a schedule of multi-agency case audits (MACAs) as part of its statutory function under Section 14 of the Children Act 2014.
MACAs enable the Board to monitor the effectiveness of safeguarding practices, recognise areas of good practice that can be shared and built upon and identify areas in which there may be policy, training and developmental needs.
Each round of MACAs focuses on front-line, multi-agency practice. The theme of each audit changes dependent on national/local issue or priority areas for the Board.
The attached map provides oversight of the process and how it helps the Board to identify, disseminate and embed learning across the partnership.
Summary of MACA themes and key messages for front line professionals are available on the right. These are sent out via our ‘Things You Should Know” briefings.
